Steps

  1. Off heat
  2. Place the flour in a heavy saucepan
  3. Then gradually add the milk and whisk until well-blended
  4. Place saucepan over medium temperature and cook
  5. Whisking
  6. Until thick
  7. About 7 to 9 minutes
  8. Remove saucepan from heat and add the grated cheese
  9. Stirring until melted
  10. Stir in the herbs
  11. If using
  12. Makes 2 cups sauce
  13. Serve over pasta or vegetables
