dijon mustard black pepper biscuits low fat low cal


these are a soft fluffy biscuit. they have a really subtle flavor. took them to a dinner party at my mom's house. i got quite a few comments on them. no one guessed they had mustard in them. i thought they were good. very soft/ moist texture. adapted from howstuffworks.com very quick to make.

  1. Preheat oven to 450f
  2. Lightly spray large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray
  3. Combine flour
  4. Baking powder
  5. Sugar
  6. Pepper
  7. Salt and garlic powder in medium bowl
  8. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  9. Whisk together milk and mustard in small bowl
  10. Add to flour mixture
  11. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened
  12. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheet
  13. Bake about 10 minutes or until golden brown
  14. Remove from pan to wire rack
