diana s favourite caramel corn


this is by far the very best caramel corn i've ever had. sweet, buttery, crunchy, finger lickin' good. i thought about cutting the recipe in half, but what would be the point.

  • Carbohydrates: 216.6

  1. In a large pot
  2. Combine sugar
  3. Corn syrup
  4. Butter
  5. Cream of tartar and salt
  6. Boil rapidly on medium high heat
  7. Stirring constantly until mixture reaches 260 on a candy thermometer
  8. Remove from heat
  9. Stir in soda thoroughly
  10. Pour over popped corn in a large bowl
  11. Stir until well coated
  12. Place popcorn on a large buttered cookie sheet
  13. Bake for 1 hour at 200
  14. Stirring 3 or 4 times
  15. Keep in a tightly covered container
  16. Care should be taken not to get the caramel on your skin
  17. Trust me -- i know the consequences
