  1. In a large saucepan
  2. Combine all ingredients except the sweetener
  3. Bring to a boil
  4. Reduce heat
  5. Simmer for 30 minutes
  6. Remove from heat and add sweetener
  7. Mix well
  8. Refrigerate in a covered container
  9. Use within a week
