  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees f
  2. Grease twelve 3-inch muffin cups or line with paper liners
  3. In large bowl
  4. Combine both flours
  5. Cinnamon
  6. Baking powder
  7. Baking soda
  8. And salt
  9. In medium bowl
  10. Beat buttermilk
  11. Oat bran
  12. Brown sugar
  13. Oil
  14. Applesauce and egg until blended
  15. Stir buttermilk mixture into flour mixture just until combined
  16. Fold in apples
  17. Divide batter among muffin cups
  18. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in centers comes out clean
  19. Cool muffins in pan 5 minutes
  20. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack
