frank blandi operated the lemont restaurant on top of pittsburgh's mount washington. looking down, he could see devonshire street. it worked out to be a good name for a sandwich!

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  2. Fry bacon and remove from pan
  3. Drain
  4. Set aside
  5. Melt stick butter in deep pan and add flour
  6. Stirring constantly
  7. Add chicken broth
  8. Stir
  9. Add hot milk
  10. Stir
  11. Add cheese and salt
  12. Bring to boil
  13. Reduce heat
  14. Cook slowly for 20 minutes
  15. Stirring constantly
  16. Cool to lukewarm
  17. Whip cheese sauce with wire beater until smooth
  18. Place 1 slice toast in a casserole dish and top with 3 slices bacon
  19. Add 5 slices turkey
  20. Cover with the whipped cheese sauce
  21. Sprinkle with a little melted butter
  22. Parmesan cheese
  23. And paprika
  24. Bake 10-15 minutes until golden brown
