devilish cheesy halibut


this is an easy, different and delicious preparation for halibut. halibut chunks are breadcrumbed and baked in a sauce of tomato, garlic, curry powder, soy sauce and lemon, then topped off with sharp cheddar cheese. i find that this needs no additional salt, and it's absolutely scrumptious!

  1. In a medium saucepan
  2. Combine the sauce ingredients: tomato sauce
  3. Chicken broth
  4. Olive oil
  5. Garlic
  6. Curry powder
  7. Lemon juice and soy sauce
  8. Bring to a boil
  9. Then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes
  10. Remove from heat
  11. Preheat oven to 450 degrees f
  12. In large bowl
  13. Combine halibut fillet chunks with olive oil to coat
  14. Add fine breadcrumbs
  15. Stirring around again to coat all sides of all pieces
  16. Arrange breadcrumbed fish chunks in a greased 8x8 baking dish
  17. Evenly sprinkle all of the cheese on top and bake uncovered for 10 minutes
  18. Remove from oven
  19. Evenly pour on 2 / 3 of the tomato sauce mixture
  20. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes
  21. Serve fish with the rest of the sauce
