Steps

  1. Cut cookie dough in half widthwise
  2. Let one portion stand at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften
  3. Press dough onto the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch pie plate
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 11-12 minutes or until lightly browned
  5. Cool on wire rack in a saucepan
  6. Combine the sugar
  7. Cornstarch and salt
  8. Stir in milk until smooth
  9. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly
  10. Reduce heat
  11. Cook and stir 2 minutes longer
  12. Remove from heat
  13. Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks
  14. Return all to pan
  15. Stirring constantly
  16. Bring to a gentle boil
  17. Cook and stir 2 minutes longer
  18. Remove from the heat
  19. Stir in butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla
  20. Spread 1 cup filling into prepared crust
  21. Slice bananas
  22. Arrange over filling
  23. Pour remaining filling over bananas
  24. Refrigerate 2 hours or until set
  25. In a chilled mixing bowl
  26. Beat cream until it begins to thicken
  27. "add confectioners sugar and remaining vanilla"
  28. Beat until stiff peaks form
  29. Spread over pie
  30. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled
  31. Refrigerate leftovers
