  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a large bowl beat butter with sugars until smooth
  3. Beat in egg
  4. Peanut butter and vanilla until will blended
  5. In another bowl
  6. Whisk together flours
  7. Wheat germ
  8. Ground flax seed
  9. Oats
  10. Baking soda and salt
  11. Beat or stir into butter mixture until smooth
  12. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts
  13. Spread dough evenly in a buttered 8-inch square baking pan
  14. Bake until pale golden brown
  15. About 25-30 minutes
  16. Let cool on rack for about 10 min
  17. Then cut into squares
