whole chia seeds set up and turn into gelatin and this is really delish. best if eaten within 24 hours. i use skim milk and splenda to reduce calories but you could use coconut milk, whole milk, almond milk, etc as well as sugar, maple syrup, agave.

no need for store-bought — these homemade granola bars are even better!
a fantastic, aromatic rice dish that is wonderfully frugal and traditional to kenya. this recipe is a beautiful example of the fusion between african and indian cuisines local to the area.
serve this with kachumbari on the side!
these bars are quick and simple to prepare....and delicious, too!
adopted recipe.these are nice and tender. i think the added sugar on the top makes them just right. you could probably mix the confectioners sugar with a little water to make a glaze for them too.
not sure where this came from....another handwritten note here for safe keeping. i have not made this yet, but it is a smaller cake (9 in sq pan)
i think this is based on a cooking light recipe, but i can't remember! a very easy side dish for a dinner party or brunch! note: dh and i both really like this dish, so the serving size is big!
update 12/31/2011: i finally found the original recipe
this is from canadian chef ricardo - it can easily be made vegetarian with veggies broth or into a whole meal by adding shrimp in at the end with the tomatoes and peas. even my baby girl likes it!
from toni at hope lodge, a real shining light. this is the best blueberry cheese cake you will eat; everyone should put this in their cook book.
this is something i do when someone drops in and i don't have anything handy to serve them. this can be in the oven in 5 minutes!
my grandmother came up with this recipe to use up some larger than life zucchini that came from her garden. this is an easy way to use up those leftover bananas too!
