chocolate chess squares


a rich and delicious dessert. even got a thumbs up from my father-in-law on this recipe. adapted from a holly berkowitz clegg cookbook.

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees f
  2. Coat a 13 x 9 pan with cooking spray
  3. Combine cake mix
  4. Egg
  5. Butter
  6. And water by hand
  7. Now
  8. Pat the batter mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan
  9. In a mixing bowl
  10. Beat the cream cheese
  11. Powdered sugar
  12. And egg whites until smooth
  13. Add the vanilla extract
  14. Pour mixture over batter
  15. Bake 45 minutes or until top is golden
  16. Cool and cut into squares
