Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly grease a 13" x 9" baking pan
  3. In mixing bowl
  4. Combine flour
  5. Sugar
  6. And cocoa
  7. Cut in butter with pastry mixer or fork until crumbly
  8. Add egg and almond extract until blended
  9. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture for topping
  10. Press remaining crumb mixture into the prepared 13"x9" inch pan
  11. Carefully top evenly with pie filling
  12. Combine chocolate chips and almonds
  13. With the 1 cup reserved crumb mixture
  14. Sprinkle over pie filling
  15. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
  16. Cool then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting
