Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Melt butter in 9-inch square baking pan
  3. Stir in crumbs and 1 / 2 cup nuts
  4. Press to cover bottom of pan
  5. In a small bowl
  6. Beat cream cheese
  7. Sugar
  8. Cocoa
  9. Egg
  10. And vanilla at medium speed until smooth
  11. Pour over crust and sprinkle with remaining 1 / 2 cup nuts
  12. Bake 20 minutes
  13. Let stand at room temperature 2 hours
  14. Cut into 1-inch squares with a sharp knife
  15. Store covered
  16. In refrigerator
  17. These cookies are best presentted in a single layer
