Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 13x9 inch pan
  3. Combine dry cake mix
  4. Melted margarine
  5. And 2 / 3 cup evaporated milk in large bowl and mix well
  6. Spread half of batter in greased pan
  7. Bake for 15 minutes
  8. Meanwhile
  9. Heat caramels with remaining 1 / 3 cup evaporated milk over low heat in small saucepan until melted
  10. Stirring constantly
  11. Remove pan from oven
  12. Sprinkle with 1 cup of candy
  13. Drizzle with caramel mixture
  14. Drop remaining batter by heaping spoonfuls over caramel mixture
  15. Sprinkle with remaining 2 / 3 cup of candy
  16. Return to oven and bake for additional 20 - 24 minutes or until center is set
  17. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled
