this is a candy square similar to certain name brand cookie candy bars. that you will find on every dainty tray in my home town. a very popular dainty that is so hard to resist

  1. Base:
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Mix in flour
  4. Press into 8" square pan
  5. Bake at 375f for 20-25 minutes
  6. Filling:
  7. Mix filling ingredients in saucepan
  8. Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes over low heat
  9. Stirring
  10. Beat and pour over base
  11. When cool melt together butter and chocolate and pour glaze over square
