what a fantastic dessert cookie to be served after dinner. can be easily frozen and brought out for those unexpected guests over the holiday season!!

  1. Preheat oven to 350f grease a 17x11 baking sheet and line with parchment paper overlapping the two ends for easy removal
  2. Cookie: beat butter
  3. Sugars
  4. Vanilla and water until smooth
  5. Add remainin 3 ingredients and beat until mixture is combined
  6. Spread dough to cover prepared baking sheet
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes
  8. Topping: meanwhile
  9. Over medium heat bring butter and brown sugar to a boil
  10. Stir to combine
  11. Spread mixture over partially baked cookie dough
  12. Return to oven and bake an additional 8 minutes until caramel is bubbling
  13. Remove from oven
  14. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over hot caramel
  15. Wait 5 minutes and spread melted chocolate over cookie
  16. If using nuts
  17. Sprinkle over chocolate
  18. Cool in refrigerator until chocolate is set
  19. Once at room temperature
  20. Break or cut slab into irregular pieces or into your favorite cookie cutter shapes
