chocolate bread pudding


this came in my e-mail from 'real simple'. looks good to me!

  1. Whisk the milk
  2. Eggs
  3. And sugar in a medium saucepan
  4. Add the butter and chocolate
  5. Melt
  6. Stir in the vanilla
  7. Lightly coat a 9-x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray
  8. Arrange the bread slices in 3 layers
  9. Pour the chocolate sauce over the bread
  10. Cover with plastic wrap and place another baking dish on top to weigh down the bread
  11. Set aside for 1 hour to allow the bread to absorb the sauce
  12. Heat oven to 325 degrees f
  13. Remove top baking dish and plastic
  14. Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes or until set
  15. Serve warm with whipped cream
