  1. In large food processor bowl combine cookies and 3 / 4 cup of the nuts
  2. Pulse until cookies are crushed
  3. Add orange liqueur
  4. Corn syrup
  5. And cocoa powder
  6. Process until combined
  7. Add remaining nuts
  8. Pulse until coarsely chopped
  9. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper
  10. Shape cookie mixture in 1-inch balls
  11. Place on baking sheet
  12. Insert a lollipop stick
  13. And freeze for 30 minutes
  14. In a small saucepan combine chocolate pieces and shortening
  15. Cook and stir over medium-low heat just until melted
  16. Remove from heat
  17. Dip pops in chocolate
  18. Return to baking sheet
  19. Loosely cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until chocolate is set
  20. If using liqueur
  21. Flavor will mellow after a day or two
  22. Makes 20 pops
  23. To store: place in covered container
  24. Refrigerate up to 1 week
