recently i was given a box of old cookbooks and cooking magazines. (yea!) this yummy and impressive looking recipe comes from one of those-family circle great desserts. chill time is 3 hours.

  1. Combine sugar
  2. Cornstarch
  3. Salt and chocolate in a medium saucepan
  4. Gradually stir in milk
  5. Cook over medium heat
  6. Stirring constantly
  7. Until chocolate melts and mixture is thickening
  8. Bring to a boil for 1 minute
  9. Remove from heat
  10. And stir in vanilla
  11. Pour into a 3 cup jello mold
  12. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold
  13. About 3 hours
  14. When ready to serve
  15. Run a knife around the top
  16. Dip mold quickly in and out of hot water
  17. Then invert on a serving plate
  18. Garnish with whipped cream if desired
