this recipe was passed to me by my mother, and i've embellished it a tad.

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease and flour two 9x5x3 loaf pans
  3. Cream butter
  4. Eggs
  5. Sugars
  6. Bananas
  7. Buttermilk
  8. Vanilla and cinnamon
  9. Mix together flour
  10. Baking soda
  11. Salt
  12. Baking cocoa and pecans
  13. Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients
  14. Mix well
  15. Add boiling water and stir rapidly for 2 minutes
  16. Pour batter into loaf pans
  17. Bake for 45 minutes
  18. Sprinkle chocolate chips over tops of loaves
  19. Return to oven for about 15 minutes or until toothpick comes clean when poked into center of loaf
  20. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack
  21. Take a spatula and spread melted chocolate chips in an even layer on top of loaves
  22. Let cool and remove from pans
  23. Warm to serve and enjoy !
