chocolate anise cookies biscotti


this has a mild anise flavor and is not as hard as some biscotti. recipe from the foodnetwork and giada de laurentiis.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f
  2. Line a heavy large baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Whisk the flour
  4. Baking powder
  5. And salt in a medium bowl to blend
  6. Using an electric mixer
  7. Beat the sugar and butter in a large bowl to blend
  8. Beat in the eggs 1 at a time
  9. Add the flour mixture and beat just until blended
  10. Add the ground anise seed and mix well
  11. Stir in the chocolate chips
  12. Form the dough into a 16-inch-long
  13. 3-inch-wide log
  14. Transfer the log to the prepared baking sheet
  15. Bake until light golden
  16. About 30 minutes
  17. Cool 30 minutes
  18. Place the log on the cutting board
  19. Using a serrated knife
  20. Cut the log on a diagonal into 1 / 2- to 3 / 4-inch-thick slices
  21. Arrange the cookies cut side down on the baking sheet
  22. Bake the cookies until pale golden
  23. About 15 minutes
  24. Transfer the cookies to a rack and cool completely
