  1. Deshell
  2. Devein
  3. Wash and drain prawns thoroughly
  4. Add half the chilli powder and 1 / 2 tsp of salt to the prawns
  5. Mix well and set aside for 15 minutes
  6. In a wok on medium flame add oil and heat a little
  7. Add mustard seeds and let it spatter
  8. Add onions
  9. Ginger and garlic paste
  10. Turmeric powder and fry till onions are golden brown
  11. Add the marinated prawns and stir
  12. Add the remaining chilli powder and salt
  13. Stir and place the lid on utensil
  14. Reduce flame to the minimum and let it cook
  15. Approximately 15 minutes
  16. Open lid and stir the prawns add the water and coriander leaves and stir again
  17. Check salt content
  18. Let it simmer for another 10 minutes
  19. Open lid and check if prawns is cooked thoroughly
  20. If yes
  21. Then increase flame to medium and stir till all the water is gone
  22. Serve with rice or chappati
