  1. "make a batter with themarinade ingredients"
  2. Put chicken pieces into it and mix well
  3. Set aside for 1 / 2 hour
  4. Heat oil
  5. About 2 inches deep
  6. In a wok / frypan
  7. Fry chicken pieces
  8. In batches of 6-8 pieces
  9. Till cooked through
  10. Drain fried chicken on a paper towel
  11. When all the chicken pieces are fried
  12. Remove oil from the pan
  13. Letting about 2 tablespoons remain in it
  14. In a small bowl mix together cornstarch and water
  15. Put back the wok on fire and heat the 2 tblsps of oil
  16. Add green chillies
  17. Garlic
  18. Green pepper and shallot and stir fry for 30 secsonds
  19. Pour in soya sauce and vinegar
  20. Give it two three quick whisks and immediately add the cornstarch-water mixture
  21. The sauce will thicken
  22. If you find it too thick
  23. Add some more water
  24. When the bubbles appear
  25. Add the fried chicken pieces
  26. Add salt and a pinch of msg
  27. Stir fry chicken for 2 minutes and remove from fire
  28. Serve hot with chinese fried rice / plain rice or noodles
