  1. Pour buttermilk and half-and-half into large bowl or saucepan
  2. In a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter
  4. Add onion
  5. Increase heat to medium-high and saut until softened
  6. Add garlic
  7. Stirring
  8. And then lettuce strips
  9. Saut for about three minutes
  10. Stirring occasionally
  11. Until lettuce is wilted
  12. Stir lettuce strips
  13. Parsley
  14. Dill and pea puree into buttermilk mixture
  15. Then blend with an immersion blender
  16. Add salt and pepper to taste
  17. Chill at least three hours or overnight
  18. To serve
  19. Ladle into soup bowls and sprinkle with dill
