  1. In large pot
  2. Place oil
  3. Chicken base
  4. Onion and spices
  5. Saut until onions are soft and clear
  6. About 5 minutes
  7. In another container
  8. Combine masa harina with 1 quart water
  9. Stir until all lumps dissolve
  10. Add to sauted onions and bring to boil
  11. Once mixture starts to bubble
  12. Continue cooking 2-3 minutes
  13. Stirring constantly
  14. This will eliminate any raw taste from masa harina
  15. Add remaining 3 quarts water to pot
  16. Add tomatoes
  17. Let mixture return to boil stirring occasionally
  18. Add cheese to soup
  19. Cook stirring occasionally
  20. Until cheese melts
  21. Add chicken
  22. Heat through
