aww shucks crescent dough dessert


this is a souped up version of another zaar recipe, that i played around with until i thought it couldn't get any better. when i bring this to social gatherings, people are so estatic in their compliments, that i have to say "aw, shucks, it's easy." hence, the name.

  1. Heat oven to 350
  2. Grease one 13x9 inch pan
  3. Roll out first can of crescent dough into bottom of pan
  4. And slightly up sides
  5. Beat cream cheese
  6. 1 cup of the sugar
  7. And vanilla together
  8. Spread over crescent dough
  9. Microwave jam or preserves for 45 seconds
  10. Stirring once after twenty five seconds
  11. To make it slightly liquid
  12. Spread jam on top of cream cheese
  13. Taking care not to mix the two together but keeping them layered
  14. With your hands
  15. Gently stretch second can of crescent dough and place on top of jam layer
  16. This does not have to cover perfectly
  17. In fact
  18. Open seams here and there look quite pretty with the jam peeking through
  19. Mix melted butter
  20. Remaining 3 / 4 cup sugar
  21. And cinnamon together
  22. Making sure to incorporate all the butter
  23. Gently spoon butter mixture over dough
  24. Spreading to cover
  25. Bake
  26. Uncovered
  27. For 35 minutes
  28. Until top is browned nicely
  29. Let it cool for fifteen minutes
  30. Cut and serve !
  31. Tastes best warm or room temp
  32. But cold is delicious
