these are moist, dark, and delicious muffins from the king arthur flour company. they keep well, are made of 1/2 whole wheat flour, and have brown sugar sprinkled on top for a crunchy texture. if you don't have buttermilk, you can use regular milk + 1 tb
delicious drop biscuits that are great for brunch or dinner. leftovers can be diced and baked as crutons. the whole wheat flour gives it a nice texture. i got this recipe from one of my favorite canadian author/teacher, bonnie stern.
from a recipe card set of twenty plus years ago it's deliciously different and a great addition to a picnic basket. i've also made this up as a side dish to a meal of baked ham and steamed broccoli. either way it's a keeper in our family.
