swedish onions and potatoes au gratin


from the cookbook onion harvest cookbook. another cookbook given to me by a friend. for cook time, i'm including the cooking of the potatoes, because that has to be done concurrently, almost, with the onions.

  1. Saute onions in the butter
  2. On medium heat
  3. Until limp
  4. But not brown
  5. In a medium baking dish
  6. Alternate layers of potatoes
  7. Onions and cheese
  8. Making sure that the cheese is at the top and final layer
  9. Add the milk
  10. Salt and pepper
  11. Cover with chopped parsley and sprinkle with paprika
  12. Bake uncovered at 325 f for 30 minutes
  13. Or until heated through
  14. Serve warm
