  1. Drain berries
  2. Wash and pick out any leaves
  3. Place berries in saucepan
  4. Add water and heat to boiling
  5. Add sugar
  6. Stir to dissolve
  7. Simmer 10 minutes
  8. Remove from heat
  9. Place saucepan in cold water
  10. Stir sauce for 1-2 minutes
  11. Serve warm if using for pancakes
  12. Chill if serving with meat
