swedish hamburgers malda flaskbiffar


this recipe is different from my other swedish burger recipe in that it is made and served with fried onions and cream gravy over mashed potatoes. kind of like meatballs only in a bigger form!

  1. Soak bread crumbs and seasonings in water and cup cream for 10 minutes
  2. Add pork
  3. Egg and parsley
  4. Mix well until blended
  5. Shape into 8 round flat patties
  6. Melt half of margarine in large skillet
  7. Fry patties about 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat
  8. Place on warm platter and keep warm
  9. Peel and thinly slice onions
  10. Saut in remaining margarine until soft and golden about 12-15 minutes
  11. Spoon onions over burgers and keep warm
  12. Pour 1 cup cream into frying pan
  13. Cook
  14. Stirring down the sides for about 4-5 minutes until it starts to thicken
  15. Season with salt and pepper
  16. Pour over burgers and serve immediately
  17. Preferably over mashed potatoes
