swedish ham potato dill and cheese bake


leftover ham at the holidays? i share your pain, so i dug this recipe out of a swedish cookbook. it's wonderful comfort food. you can use from 3 to 6 ham slices.

  1. In a 2-quart baking dish
  2. Arrange a single layer of ham
  3. Sprinkle with dill weed
  4. Top with a layer of potatoes
  5. Then another layer of ham
  6. Sprinkling each with dill weed
  7. Combine milk
  8. Half-and-half
  9. Eggs
  10. Cheese
  11. Pepper
  12. Nutmeg and worcestershire sauce and mix well
  13. Pour over the ham and potatoes
  14. Bake at 375f for 1 hour 15 minutes or until firm
  15. Cool at least 30 minutes
  16. Or long enough that the mixture holds together when sliced
  17. Cut into slices and serve
