Steps

  1. Wipe mushrooms clean with damp paper towel
  2. Or rinse under cold water
  3. Put butter into saucepan
  4. And add onion and mushrooms
  5. Cover
  6. And simmer 5 minutes over med-low heat
  7. You just want to simmer them
  8. Not brown them
  9. So stir once or twice and lower heat if necessary
  10. Remove mushrooms and place into blender or food processor
  11. Add flour
  12. Seasonings and 1 / 2 cup consomme
  13. Puree
  14. You will need to scrape down a couple of times
  15. Pour puree back into pan
  16. Add remaining liquids and simmer over low heat stirring til smooth
  17. Serve with warm crusty bread for dipping
  18. Can garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired
