these homemade meatballs, smothered in a creamy gravy sauce, taste much better than the famous ikea version

  1. In a large skillet saut onions in 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  2. Stirring frequently
  3. For 2-3 minutes over medium heat
  4. When onions become translucent
  5. Remove pan from the heat and leave them to cool a little
  6. In a large bowl
  7. Combine ground beef
  8. Ground pork
  9. Breadcrumbs
  10. Egg yolks
  11. Allspice
  12. Nutmeg
  13. Salt
  14. Pepper and cooked onion
  15. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands
  16. Mix until well combined
  17. Roll the mixture into 1 -to-1 -inch meatballs
  18. Forming about 24 meatballs
  19. Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet
  20. Add meatballs
  21. In batches
  22. And cook until all sides are browned
  23. About 4-5 minutes
  24. Transfer to a paper towel to get rid of any excessive fat
  25. To make the gravy
  26. Melt butter in the skillet
  27. Whisk in flour until lightly browned
  28. About 1 minute
  29. Gradually whisk in beef broth and cook
  30. Whisking constantly
  31. Until slightly thickened
  32. About 1-2 minutes
  33. Stir in sour cream
  34. Season with salt and pepper
  35. Serve immediately
  36. Garnished with parsley
  37. And with cooked fresh pasta
