  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan with butter
  3. Pie: place the sliced apples in the pie pan
  4. Sprinkle with the cinnamon
  5. Cardamom and 1 teaspoon sugar
  6. Toss to coat
  7. Topping: in medium bowl
  8. Mix together 1 cup sugar with the melted butter
  9. Stir in the nuts
  10. Flour
  11. Egg and salt
  12. Mix well
  13. Spoon then spread mixture over the apples
  14. Bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown
