  1. Cream shortening
  2. Butter and sugar
  3. Add eggs
  4. One at a time
  5. Beating well after each addition
  6. Add baking powder to flour and add alternately with milk and vanilla to the mixture
  7. Add peach jam and blend well
  8. Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan
  9. Put in a cold oven
  10. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1 / 2 hours
