my mom being bengali taught me how to make this recipe that i love to eat during winter time.

Steps

  1. Make a paste of turmeric
  2. 1 tablespoon mustard oil
  3. And salt
  4. Apply the mixture to the shrimp
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour
  6. Heat the remaining oil in a medium-sized saute pan over medium heat and saute the marinated shrimp for 3 minutes
  7. Remove from heat and keep aside
  8. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  9. Add mustard seeds
  10. Cloves
  11. Cinnamon stick
  12. And bay leaf
  13. Cook
  14. Stirring constantly until it is toasted and fragrant
  15. Add chopped onions and cook till it is translucent
  16. Add cayenne pepper and 1 / 2 cup water and cook until the oil separates
  17. Lower the heat and add the coconut milk and the sauteed shrimp
  18. Simmer until the shrimp are cooked
  19. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and eat it with basmati rice
