ben's chocolate is about as rich as they come according to ben & jerry's book

  1. Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over hot
  2. Not boiling water
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and heat
  4. Stirring constantly
  5. Until smooth
  6. Remove from the heat and let cool
  7. Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light a fluffly
  8. 1-2 minutes
  9. Whisk in the sugar
  10. A little at a time
  11. Then continue whisking until completely blended
  12. About 1 minute more
  13. Add the cream
  14. Vanilla
  15. And salt and whisk to blend
  16. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cream mixture and blend
  17. Cover and refrigerate until cold
  18. About 1 to 3 hours
  19. Depending upon your refrigerator
  20. "transfer the mixture to you ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturers directions"
  21. I heated the cream to almost-boiling and then poured over the chopped chocolate- much easier than the double boiler
