variation: chocolate almond- add 1 cup roasted whole almonds (salted or unsalted) after the ice cream stiffens, about 2 minutes before it is done, then continue to freeze until the ice cream is ready.

  1. Gradually whisk chocolate into the milk and heat
  2. Stirring constantly
  3. Until smooth
  4. Remove from the heat and let cool
  5. Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light anf fluffy
  6. 1-2 minutes
  7. Whisk in the sugar
  8. A little at a time
  9. Then continue whisking until completely blended
  10. About 1 minute more
  11. Add the cream
  12. Vanilla and salt and whisk to blend
  13. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cream mixture and blend
  14. Cover and refrigerate until cold
  15. About 1-3 hours
  16. Depending on your refrigerator
  17. "transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturers instructions"
