  1. Cut off the stems of the peppers and remove the seeds
  2. Brown the beef
  3. "saute the onion until its limp"
  4. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and fill the peppers with the beef mixture
  5. Place them in a deep dutch oven type pot
  6. A cast deep iron skillet will also work
  7. Add about 1 quart tomato juice in the pot
  8. Cover and simmer adding a tomato juice if needed
  9. Cook for 45 to 60 minutes pepper are soft
