  1. Mix flour
  2. Salt
  3. Pepper and paprika
  4. Roll beef cubes in this until well coated
  5. Melt butter in large saucepan
  6. Add onions
  7. Saute until soft and tender
  8. Remove
  9. In same pan over high heat
  10. Sear beef cubes
  11. A few at a time
  12. Return onions and meat to pan
  13. Set on low heat
  14. Add garlic
  15. Bay leaf
  16. Thyme and celery
  17. Sprinkle on parsley
  18. Add sugar and beer
  19. Bring to simmer while stirring
  20. Cover and poach on low heat
  21. 1 1 / 2 hours
  22. Add vinegar
  23. Simmer 5 minutes
