belgian brussels waffles


love to cook from scratch, so when i purchased a belgian waffle maker i searched for the perfect authentic recipe and combined a couple to come up with this. my family continuously asks for it....yummy good with strawberries and whip cream or just warm maple syrup.

  1. Sprinkle yeast over the 1 / 2 cup warm milk in a small bowl
  2. Set aside about 5 minutes to soften
  3. In a large bowl
  4. Mix together flour
  5. Sugar and salt
  6. Lightly beat the egg yolks with a fork
  7. In a small bowl mix melted butter
  8. 1 1 / 4 cup warm milk
  9. Vanilla
  10. Egg yolks
  11. Add the butter
  12. Milk
  13. Vanilla
  14. Egg yolks to flour mixture
  15. Mix until smooth
  16. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form
  17. Stir in the yeasted milk
  18. Fold egg whites gently into batter
  19. Leave it out on the counter until doubled in volume
  20. Then bake
  21. The flavor is better if refrigerated overnight
