  1. In large nonstick skillet
  2. Melt butter over medium heat
  3. Cook onions
  4. Stirring often for 5 to 10 minutes
  5. Sprinkle with sugar and vinegar
  6. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 20 minutes or until tender and golden
  7. Add beets to onions
  8. Add salt and pepper
  9. Heat over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through
