  1. With food grinder using coarse blade
  2. Grind together beets
  3. Apples
  4. Onions and green pepper
  5. In 4 quart stainless steel or enamel dutch oven over medium heat
  6. Bring ground mixture
  7. Brown sugar and remaining ingredients to a boil
  8. Stirring often
  9. Simmer
  10. Uncovered
  11. 30 minutes or until thick
  12. Stirring frequently
  13. Immediately ladle simmering mixture into 8 clean
  14. Hot pint jars
  15. Leaving inch space at top
  16. Wipe rims of jars with damp cloth
  17. Cover with lids and seal according to jar manufacturers directions
  18. Process in boiling water bath 15 minutes from time water in canner returns to a boil
  19. Remove jars
  20. Cool on racks 12 to 24 hours
  21. Check jars for airtight seal
  22. Makes 8 half pints
