  1. In a large skillet
  2. Fry bacon until it is almost crisp
  3. Add onion slices and saute until onion is tender
  4. Do not drain the bacon grease unless there is too much
  5. Add cabbage and stir until cabbage is well coated with the bacon mixture
  6. Pour beer into a 2 cup measuring cup add caraway seeds
  7. Mustard
  8. Sugar
  9. Salt and pepper and stir until well mixed
  10. Mixture might get foamy
  11. Pour over the cabbage in the skillet and mix well with an egg spatula
  12. Cover with a lid and simmer until cabbage is tender
