  1. Lightly coat a large wide saucepan with oil and set over medium heat
  2. Prick sausages with a fork
  3. Then place in pan
  4. Turn often until browned
  5. 6 to 7 minutes
  6. Meanwhile
  7. Slice onions in half
  8. Place cut-side down on a cutting board
  9. Thinly slice into strips
  10. Core and seed peppers
  11. Then slice into thick strips
  12. When sausages are browned
  13. Add onions and peppers to pan
  14. Sprinkle with sugar
  15. Stir frequently until onions start to soften
  16. 4 to 5 minutes
  17. Add beer
  18. Dijon and salt
  19. Stir until mustard is blended inches boil gently
  20. Uncovered
  21. Until liquid is reduced by half and sausages are cooked through
  22. 5 to 6 minutes
  23. Great with hunks of pumpernickel and sliced dill pickles
