this is my favorite recipe for fried jalapeno strips... but it works equally as well for fried onion rings (or petals) and, if you're so inclined, it's an excellent coating for fried pickles. try them all at once, if you like. this recipe makes plenty of batter. serve with spicy ranch dipping sauce.

Steps

  1. Slice onion and jalapeno as desired
  2. And pat dry pickles onto paper towels
  3. In a large bowl
  4. Whisk together egg
  5. Beer
  6. Flour and seasoned salt
  7. "heat oil in heavy skillet or a fry-cooker
  8. Following manufacturers directions"
  9. Dip vegetables into batter
  10. Allowing excess batter to drip off
  11. Fry in batches
  12. About 3 or 4 minutes per batch
  13. Or until lightly browned
  14. Drain onto paper towels
  15. Serve immediately
