beer spice cake


a nice quick spice cake. i usually make it at christmas. just added walnuts to the ingredients list, sorry i forgot them the first time!

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees f
  2. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan
  3. Sift together flour
  4. Baking powder
  5. Cloves
  6. Cinnamon
  7. Allspice baking soda and salt
  8. Set aside
  9. In a large bowl
  10. Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
  11. Add egg and beat well
  12. Add flour mixture alternately with beer and mix well to combine
  13. Fold in the chopped walnuts
  14. Pour into a 9x5 inch loaf pan
  15. Bake at 375 degrees f for 40 to 50 minutes
  16. Or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean
