beer pizza crust


from canada's best bread machine baking recipes book. this recipe can be made in a bread machine, or by hand. i usually make two pizzas from this recipe and have leftovers, but you could roll it out into one larger pizza and/or thicker crust.

  1. If using a bread machine
  2. Simply add all the ingredients in the order given
  3. Make sure that the salt and yeast do not touch
  4. And that the yeast does not touch the liquid
  5. Especially if you have a bread machine that preheats the ingredients
  6. If making by hand:
  7. Pour beer into a cup and sprinkle the yeast on top
  8. Let sit for about 5 minutes or until yeast starts bubbling and foaming
  9. Mix all dry ingredients
  10. Slowly add in beer and yeast mixture
  11. Combine all ingredients
  12. Kneed dough on a cutting board or countertop for approximatley 8-10 minutes
  13. "use flour on the counter top and your hands to ensure it doesnt stick"
  14. "the dough is ready when its elastic and you can see little bubbles in it"
  15. Place dough in a bowl and cover with a dish towel
  16. Place somewhere warm
  17. Let rise for about 30-40 minutes
  18. Or until doubled in size
  19. Roll out dough using a rolling pin
  20. Top with whatever you like !
  21. Bake in 475f preheated oven for 8-10 minutes
  22. If using a pizza stone
  23. Make sure you preheat the stone in the oven
  24. When the crust is brown and the cheese is browning
  25. Remove from the oven and let pizza stand for a few minutes
  26. This will allow the cheese to solidify and make it easier to cut
