i never liked meatloaf (bland, yuk, i don't know...) but... ran across this recipe shortly after we were married & while i'd say it passes, my family loves it, and it has been on the menu regularly for 30 years.
i saw this on the today show and adapted it a bit to my taste. original recipe asked for 1 cup of shredded gruyere cheese but i left that out b/c i don't care for it. i also just used a refrigerated pie crust and it all come out wonderful!
this is the easiest dark chocolate cake yet. it is super-chocolaty and very moist. i've been using this recipe for 30-years. note: here's a substitute for the one cup buttermilk: 2/3 cup plain yogurt plus 1/3 cup milk.
