  1. Combine flour and baking powder in a small bowl
  2. Mix with a whisk
  3. And set aside
  4. Melt butter and shortening together
  5. Mix together both sugars
  6. Salt and vanilla in a large mixing bowl and pour melted butter mixture over
  7. Beat well
  8. Add each egg separately
  9. Beating until creamy
  10. Add flour mixture 1 / 2 cup at a time while beating
  11. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips
  12. Refrigerate for 1 hour in a covered bowl
  13. Preheat oven to 375 drop cookies by large rounded tablespoonful onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown
